Layer Two Labs clones the entire crypto forest onto Bitcoin — an Ethereum here, a Zcash there — and they do it all in the open, on GitHub. It's a beautiful thing to watch: a thousand altcoins, regrown as honest Bitcoin branches.
So we did the single most natural thing in all of nature. We forked them.
In a forest, a fork isn't theft. It's how one branch becomes two. Their open source was our seed; we're simply the next growth ring.

We didn’t just fork them — we mined them. On 23 Aug 2026 a single Bitaxe won
block 963,648 — the genesis of LayerTwo Labs’ own eCash Alpha fork —
and stamped it /layertree-ecash/. The first block, the first 25 in a row, 43 of the first 47.

Count the rings.
We bored a core out of the old-growth Bitcoin trunk. Every ring is a year of honest growth — wide rings were good rain, narrow rings were winter, and the scars are exactly what you think they are. Run your cursor across the grain to read the wood.
